Disney to Reorganize U.S. Theme Parks, Eliminate Jobs
Theme park operator Walt Disney Co. announced plans to reorganize its U.S. operations in order to cut costs and increase efficiency. The restructuring includes job cuts, and the consolidation of some roles. Disney cited the current economic environment as reason for the measures, noting fewer visitors despite efforts to increase visits through special offers. The firm will also cut spending on new projects, and has offered voluntary buyout packages to 600 Disney employees already.
