Disney workers split on contract vote
After months of negotiations, on November 5th an agreement was reached between Disneyland Resort and the Master Services Council. On the 17th thousands of employees casted their ballots. Disney's California Adventure workers voted to ratify the contract, but Disneyland Park workers rejected it. The contract would have raised wages to a minimum of $18 an hour by 2023 while also providing seniority-based bonuses. A Disneyland official said “We are proud of the tentative agreement we reached with the master services council, which was unanimously endorsed by union leadership. We are certainly disappointed in the overall outcome and will continue discussions with union representatives.”
