DNA demands wage concessions by Jan. 16
The Denver Newspaper Agency (which owns The Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News) has asked its unions for $20 million in wage and benefit concessions by January 16 in order for the company to tackle $130 million in debt. DNA has implied that the consequences of rejecting the request may be much worse than agreeing, considering the company's financial situation. DNA's unions have subsequently requested to see the firm's books which would prove an inability to pay. DNA is seeking to renegotiate labor contracts immediately.
