Double bias: how some women cope
Last month, Working Mother Media organized a forum to bring women together to discuss the double bias in the workplace ? race and gender. Statistics show that minority women have not made the same advancement up the corporate ladder that their white counterparts have, making up just 1.3 percent of corporate officers in Fortune 500 firms compared to 12.5 percent. Mentoring emerged as a key theme at the forums, as many noted that women of color often feel isolated.
