E-mail Pact Saves Laid-Off Worker’s Lawsuit Against Union
Starla Rollins, a San Bernardino hospital worker, is suing the SEIU-United Healthcare Workers West for not considering an email agreement concluding that Rollins could return to her job following additional lay-offs. A lower court has previously dismissed her case. Rollins argues that the hospital first ignored her seniority agreement by laying her off, at which point her union did not take issue with the hospital. The emails Rollins previously exchanged with the hospital agreed that she could be moved back to her previous position at the hospital when her current job was eliminated.
