Ebola: Liberian Nurses Strike Over Lack of Protective Equipment
Nurses at John F Kennedy Hospital, Liberia?s largest hospital, have gone on strike. With 700 deaths from Ebola in Liberia, nurses are demanding higher pay and more personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect them from the virulent disease. With almost 150 healthcare workers dying from Ebola, the nurses refuse to return to work until their demands are met. Before the outbreak can be controlled, the World Health Organization predicts up to 20,000 people will be infected.
