Egypt crisis: Protests switch to demands on pay
As Egypt struggles to recover from 18 days of protests, hundreds of bank workers, police officers, public transport workers, ambulance drivers, and workers in other state-owned industries are continuing to protest. The workers say that their pay is too low relative to profits, and that they deserve more. The military, which called for all protesters to go back to work, may be planning to break up the strikes by preventing labor meetings. The military says that for Egypt to get back on track, Egyptians need to go back to work.
