Employees give time as donations drop
Despite the troubled economy and shrinking corporate profits many companies are increasing charitable donations. According to the American Association of Fundraising Counsel Trust for Philanthropy corporate contributions in the year 2002 grew 10.5 percent to $12.19 billion. The contributions made by companies go beyond monetary donations as many employees donate their time to volunteering activities.
