Employees Pink-Slipped for Griping About Work on Facebook Get Re-Hired
The National Labor Relations Board has ordered five employees who were fired for complaining about their jobs on Facebook to be rehired with back pay. The employees were fired by the non-profit, who said that their comments were harassment towards a coworker. The NLRB said that the employees' speech was concerted activity, and that employees have the right to talk amongst themselves about working conditions. This was the first NLRB ruling on a social network case that did not involve a specific company policy.
