Employees to return to work after nine-month strike at Medieval Times in California
Various workers at Medieval Times, a nationwide dinner theater company, were on strike for the past nine months and finally returned to work last week after submitting an unconditional offer to return to work with the company. Medieval Times workers in Buena Park, California are represented by the American Guild of Variety Artists, and workers claimed that the company allegedly violated labor laws and tried to silence workers who spoke out on social media against the company. Workers also state that the company has refused to rehire various workers involved in strike action and union organization efforts. Strike action began in February last year, and strike action ended without a tentative contract being reached. Workers are still fighting for a union contract, and are seeking measures that will make Medieval Times fair and safe workplaces. Workers at Medieval Times perform various stunts with horses and also joust, and these activities and tasks can easily put workers in danger and their safety at risk.
