Employers add 156,000 jobs in Dec., wage gains hit 7-year high
According to the Labor Department's monthly report, the United States saw increases in both wages and employment in December. The unemployment rate rose .1% to 4.7% after 200,000 citizens entered the labor force. Average hourly wages, which have increased 2.9% this year, are expected to rise even further as the low supply of unemployed workers forces managers to offer more attractive wages.
