Employers attempt to balance work and religion
The increasing religious diversity in the workplace has created a challenge for employers when it comes to providing accommodations for employees. The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) received 2,532 charges alleging religious discrimination in 2003. Federal law requires employers to make reasonable accommodations for workers' religious needs, and most disputes involve determining what constitutes an undue hardship.
