Engineers' union warns of more blackouts
A spokesperson for the union that represents engineers at the Pacific Gas and Electric Co. warned that San Francisco residents may suffer more blackouts like that one that afflicted the downtown area on July 24. The representative for the Engineers and Scientists of California, which is currently engaged in contract negotiations with PG&E, claimed that there aren't enough workers to keep the crisis at bay. The utility claimed that the allegations were merely tactics targeting the ongoing negotiations.
