Euro - Zone Jobless Rate at Record Low
Unemployment in the 12 nations that use the euro fell to a record low of 7.8 percent in June, the European Union said Tuesday, as jobless levels dropped for a second consecutive month in a sign of economic growth. The jobless rate was 7.9 percent in May after holding at 8 percent for two months, despite signs that Europe was benefiting from growing exports to booming Asian economies. Unemployment in the 25 European Union countries also fell in June, to 8.1 percent from 8.2 percent in May and April.
