Even as wages have risen for some US workers, high inflation undermines those gains
Recent data indicates that while many employers raised wages in the past few months to attract and retain talent, these increases have not kept pace with the persistent high inflation. As a result, these wage increases do not represent actual wage gains because of the higher prices and cost of living. Furthermore, as the Federal Reserve continues to try to rein in the inflation, these increased wages may create even more inflationary pressure.
