Exxon offers a new concession to their locked-out workers
On May 1st, Exxon Mobil Corp locked out 650 workers of their Beaumont TX refinery. They replaced the workers with temporary workers saying that they were “afraid a strike might lead to disruptions to production.” On Wednesday the company offered its first concession in the new contract proposal to the locked-out workers. The United Steel Workers Union says that the new offer falls short and is not a change but just a clarification of what they've previously said. Exxon says if the new proposal is ratified before November 1st, the workers will receive a $500 bonus.
