Faltering Economy in China Dims Job Prospects for Graduates
Job prospects for graduating students in China appear dismal in the face of a slowing Chinese economy. A national survey found that 16 percent of college graduates aged 21 to 25 were unemployed. A high rate of joblessness among students with degrees indicates that the Chinese job market is still dominated by blue-collar jobs in the manufacturing industry. The survey also showed that the unemployment rate among those with only an elementary school education was 4 percent.
