Farm workers protest Wendy’s refusal to join the Fair Food Program
For several years, farm workers have protested Wendy’s trying to get them to join the Fair Food Program. Wendy’s main competitors have all been a part of the program for over a decade ensuring that their workers were protected in the food supply chain. Farm workers are planning to rally in NYC ahead of the company’s shareholder meeting on May 12th. The Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW) organizing the protest said their central question for the company is, “can you guarantee there isn’t slavery in your supply chain?”
