Farmworkers march to California's capital to revitalize United Farm Workers
A group of farmworkers in California are marching from the UFW headquarters to the California capital to encourage Governor Newsom to sign legislation that will increase access to unionization elections. UFW claims that the current legislation restricting voting to designated polling places makes farmworkers vulnerable to interference by the Agricultural Relations Board. This march reflects a long history of farmworkers fighting for their rights in California along with an attempt to reinvigorate the UFW and strengthen its membership.
