In the face of criticism over the number of immigrants farm workers, the United Farm Workers union has set up a website and a program called "Take Our Jobs". The website includes a job application for anyone who is interested to apply for a position as a farm worker, and the UFW will connect them with jobs in their area. The UFW says that they gotten 4,000 responses so far, but that only a few dozen people have followed through. The union says that the suspect that people are not interested once they realize how little the job pays, the lack of benefits and the hard working conditions. The UFW says that they would need around 500,000 workers to replace immigrant farm workers.
