Fast-food workers? pay protests pick up steam
Workers at fast food chains around the country including KFC, Wendy?s, Burger King and McDonalds are planning to stage a one-day strike Monday. The walkouts are the latest effort in an offensive to get employers to start paying a living wage of $15 an hour. Protests have been planned in Detroit, New York, Milwaukee, Chicago, St. Louis, Flint, and Kansas City. An alliance of community, clergy, and labor groups including the Service Employees International Union have joined forces to organize the protests.
