Federal Aid Urged to Boost the Domestic Workforce in Science
A study conducted by the National Science Foundation has found that an increasing number of engineering and other technical jobs are being done by foreigners. Joseph A. Miller, chairman of the National Science Foundation's task force on workforce policies, has called for a greater investment in national human capital in order to bring about domestic growth in science-related fields. Directors of the study say that they do not wish to stop the flow of foreign labor into the country, but rather to balance the labor market with more domestic workers.
