Federal Contractor 'Blacklisting' Challenge Passed by Senate
In a 49-48 vote, the U.S. Senate narrowly passed a decision to overturn the federal contractor legislation enacted as an executive order by former President Obama. The executive order, named the Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces Act, required federal contractors to disclose any workplace violations. Criticism for the act was voiced by those who saw the bill as a attempt at excluding or 'blacklisting' companies, while many Democrats and worker advocates argued that the executive order was in fact aimed towards fairness and inclusion. The challenge will now be brought to President Trump, who is expected to sign the document.
