Federal workers facing more cuts
Federal workers' unions are in talks with the government over how much members contribute to their retirement. Federal workers are already under a two-year pay freeze, which was requested by the President last year. The president of the National Federation of Federal Employees said that it was unfair to use federal employees to reduce the deficit, especially after the pay freeze. The bulk of savings from a plan released by the President's fiscal commission would come from savings employees contribute more to their pensions. Unions are currently in negotiations with the government.
