Fiat Signs One-Year Labor Deal for Workers at Italian Plants
Fiat has reached an agreement with unions at its Italian plants that will increase shifts and shorten breaks, even as the company incests $26 billion in the plants. The union says that workers? pay will increase by 5.2% and will be paid more for overtime. The one-year contract covers 86,000 workers, and goes into effect in January. The agreement still has to be ratified by workers, and at least one union, Fiom Cgil, who represents 10,000 workers, is opposing the deal
