Fiat To Shift Production Of New Model To Serbia
After negotiations with the Fiom union over its plans for an Italian plant, Fiat has announced that its 700 million euro investment plan for the plant will be delayed. Fiom was the only union to reject the plan, and has been staging strikes over the past few weeks in protest. A spokesman for Fiat said that they will work with the other unions, but need to make other plans for the immediate future. Those plans include shifting production of one model to Serbia, and delaying the release of another model until early 2012.
