Fiat Wins Backing From Most Unions on Mirafiori Plan
Fiat and five of the six unions that represent its Italian workers have come to agreements. The unions have agreed to add shifts in return for wage increases. Fiat plans to invest $1.3 billion in an Italian plant. Fiat plans to build over 250,000 cars a years in Italy. The company released a statement saying that they were happy to continue making cars in Italy, and though they would have liked backing from all of the unions, they are happy. Workers have to approve the agreements in a vote that will be held next month.
