Finnish Paper Shutdown Hits Fourth Week
A paper industry shutdown in Finland enters its fourth week in a dispute that is costing the country hundreds of millions of dollars and may lead to global higher paper prices. Finland's paper production accounts for one third of the country's exports and fifteen percent of the world's total production. Though details of the proposed agreement are not available, union leaders stated the proposed agreement was not acceptable because it reduced job security. No new talks are planned.
