Finnish workers in various industries set to participate in strike action to protest labor market policies
Thousands of workers in Finland are planning on participating in a two-day strike that targeted the food, meat, and dairy sectors in the country. The anticipated strike action will occur at the beginning of February. Workers are represented by the Finnish Food Workers’ Union, and the unionized workers are protesting against new labor market policies implemented by the Finnish prime minister. The union states that the policy changes will negatively impact working conditions, restrict the right to strike, and decrease social security benefits. Several other Finnish unions are also planning to strike, and these strikes will affect the industrial sector, the service sector, the transportation sector, and the education sector.
