Five labor organizations, including the Service Employees International Union, are planning to announce this week that they are forming an aggressively pro-growth coalition aimed specifically at organizing new workers. The SEIU, the Teamsters, the laborers, the food and commercial workers and Unite Here have all been critical of AFL-CIO president John Sweeney, and have threatened to walk out of the federation if Sweeney is re-elected this summer.
