Flight attendants working for American Airlines picket at airports across the country to demand raises
At airports across the US, flight attendants for American Airlines have taken to picketing in order to demand raises and protest against the airline's rejection of the union's proposed contract. This labor action arises as the airline industry recovers from the economic downturn during the pandemic but has yet to raise wages since 2019 despite recent high inflation and cost of living, especially in the metropolitan areas where many airports are located. Furthermore, workers were motivated to take up this labor action because the company reported large profits this quarter that have not transferred over to workers in the form of raises.
