For Spaniards, Having a Job No Longer Guarantees a Paycheck
For Spanish workers, having a job does not mean that they will be paid. As the country continues to struggle with economic issues, many workers are not paid regularly, including government employees. Most workers say that they will continue to work and wait for the sporadic payments. Spain's unemployment rate in over 25%, and despite labor reforms by the government, has continued to rise. The government says that it is doing its best to bring the country out of the economic crisis. Over 300,000 businesses in Spain have gone bankrupt over the last few years.
