Ford, union to discuss shift from trucks to cars
Ford Motor Co. officials will meet with union representatives to discuss the company's future, in particular a shift in production priority from trucks to cars, due to market demand. Company representatives say the talks are an effort to keep union officials abreast of future plans, including the possible retooling of current plants to adjust to the shift in production. Union officials are hoping such a shift can be made quickly to avoid much work stoppage for employees.
