Forty pct of U.S. workers delay retirement-survey
A new survey released on Tuesday says that 40% of workers are planning on delaying their retirement by at least 3 years. 59% of the workers said that they were delaying retirement because of health care costs, and 56% said that a decline in their employer-sponsored retirement plan was a factor in their decision. The survey also found that two-thirds are paying off their debts, more than twice the number that was reported in early 2009, and that respondents were cutting back on daily spending to save more for retirement.
