Foxconn Labor Disputes Stop IPhone Production a Second Time
For the second time in two weeks, Chinese iPhone manufacturer Foxconn had to stop production due to worker protests. A factory stopped production due to changes in production quality, with somewhere between 3,000 to 4,000 workers walking off of the job. This comes about a week after workers impacted production at another plant. Foxconn has faced increased scrutiny for its labor conditions, and a monitoring group that Apple brought in said that they had worked with Foxconn to implement a plan to improve working conditions. While the group says that Foxconn is ahead of schedule, workers say that they still face poor working and living conditions. Apple says that it takes these incidents very seriously.
