Foxconn Workers Say, 'Keep Our Overtime'
Workers at Foxconn plants in China say that changes to overtime will end up hurting workers rather than protecting them. Workers currently work more than the legally allowed amount, and Foxconn says that it will bring their policies into alignment by next year. However, the drop in overtime hours does not come with a corresponding raise in pay, meaning that workers are losing money, which most send home to their families. Some workers say that they will move to other factories in order to make more money. Foxconn says that the changes they have made are improving worker safety and morale.
