France air controllers' strike disrupts European travel
French air traffic controllers went on strike Tuesday, in the third major strike this year. Flights from major airports have been disrupted, with half the flights at Orly cancelled. The strike is over a plan to merge air traffic systems in Europe to nine hubs, which the unions say would mean job cuts. Ryanair called for the French government to intervene in any future strikes, including calling out the military to run air traffic control.
