France may aid automakers with billions to protect jobs
France is considering a $5 to $10 billion bailout of its auto industry, which accounts for nearly 10% of the country's workforce. French officials plan to meet with auto manufacturers and their labor unions early this week to discuss the deal, which would give the government a greater share of ownership in participating companies as a result.
