Fraser, Former UAW President, Dies at 91
Former United Auto Workers president Douglas A. Fraser died late Saturday at the age of 91. Fraser helped win comprehensive health care, uncapped cost-of-living allowances and improved working conditions for union members as a negotiator in the 1960s and 1970s, and also helped save Chrysler Corp. from bankruptcy in 1979.
