Freelancers get jobs via web services
A new service for businesses launched by TaskRabbit Inc. has enabled a form of digital subcontracting. By allowing employers to browse the profiles and reviews of potential hires, the website connects individuals with part-time helpers in the same way that E-Bay connects its customers with products. The website is a response to a freelancing and ?micro-entrepreneurial? trend in the US economy that is fueled by the growing number of Internet startups. TaskRabbit boasts having matched 11,000 workers to jobs across nine cities.
