Freeport Cerro Verde, Workers Sign Three-Year Labor Accord
Workers at a Peruvian Freeport mine have signed a three-year agreement with the company. Workers ended a 61 day strike last month, one of several strikes at Freeport mines across the world. The deal includes wage increases over the next two years and a signing bonus. The company is planning a $3.5 billion expansion of the mine.
