Freeport?s Indonesian workers may extend strike
Despite hopes for a settlement in the strike at Freeport?s gold and copper mine in Indonesia, workers say that they are considering extending their strike after a planned meeting with management failed to happen. The company canceled by management, and the union says that they hope it will be rescheduled. Workers are asking fr higher wages of $7.50 an hour, down from earlier numbers. The strike began on September 15.
