French Reform Plans Spark More Industrial Unrest
French workers at oil terminals at the port of Marseille are striking on Friday, as are some rail workers. The oil workers have blocked access to some things at the port, and are angry about plans to change the laws covering harbors. Unions struck on Tuesday in protests that drew somewhere between 1 and 3 million people. The striking workers were bolstered by students who joined in the protests. Unions have also called by a nationwide protest on Saturday, in hopes that it will bring out more workers and families. Unions have also been discussing any further action they should take in protesting the pension reform plans of the government.
