French unions plan new pension reform protests
Representatives of six of the largest unions in France met on Friday to discuss their next move in protesting the pension reform plans of the government. The leaders say that they will hold two more protest, one on October 2nd, and another on October 12th. the announcement comes after a protest on Thursday drew between 1 and 3 million people to the streets. The pension reforms would raise the retirement age to 62, and the age of retirement with full benefits to 67, and would still remain one of the lowest in Europe. The Prime Minister said that the government will not give in, and that the reform is necessary for the economy.
