Fresh violence rocks Ashulia
Bangladeshi garment workers in the Ashulia industrial zone are continuing a four day protest over a promised wage increase. As workers protested in the streets, police had factory owners in the region close for the day. The government said that it is looking into the protests, and urged the workers to go back to work. About 500,000 workers are employed in the Ashulia region, in around 350 garment factories.
