Fujitsu Uses Pay Cuts as a Motivational Tool
Fujitsu, one of the world's largest makers of computer and telecommunications equipment, is planning a series of pay cuts in order to motivate their managers and general employees to work harder. The pay cuts are intended to create a sense of urgency and encourage teamwork. This strategy makes sense in the Japanese workplace because workers are often willing to make sacrifices when they feel there is a crisis.
