Gap Says It Will Phase Out On-Call Scheduling of Employees
Gap recently announced that it will no longer use "on-call scheduling" for its employees. In the future, employees will be given 10 to 14 days notice before every shift they are scheduled to work. Within a month, the following five brands will operate under this new policy: Athleta, Intermix, Banana Republic, Gap, and Old Navy. This decision comes after attorney general Eric T. Schneiderman wrote to retailers questioning whether their current shift scheduling practices were legal.
