Georgian Coalminers Strike for 13th Day to Demand Better Pay
Last night, the Georgia Industrial Group (GIG) administration building was stormed by coalminers. Over 500 coalminers from the country of Georgia have been on strike for thirteen days now claiming that they have not seen a wage increase since 2012. GIG claimed that if the workers returned to work, they would consider a wage increase in two month. The workers, who only earn between $222 to $238 a month, refused the offer and will remain on strike for the time being.
