German Unemployment Drops as Euro-Area Inflation Slows
The number of unemployed Germans decreased by a seasonally adjusted 15,000 as the Euro Zone inflation slowed to 0.8%. December is the first time in five months that the German unemployment rate has fallen. There has been an influx of as many as 120,000 foreigners to fill jobs in Germany. The Eurozone as a whole had a jobless rate of 12.1% in December, while Germany?s rate stands at about 5.2%. This is the second lowest, after only Austria.
