German union plans further strikes at Amazon
Amazon workers represented by Union Verdi are preparing to strike at two German locations. Amazon has about 9,000 employees in Germany and many of the represented workers are classified as part of the logistics sector, though the workers believe that their jobs should be a part of the mail order or retail sectors. The strikes are to protest pay and conditions that mirror the logistics sector norms. The world?s largest online retailer, Amazon stated that the strikes should have little impact on the company?s ability to make shipments to customers on time. The union is considering expanding the strikes to other locations in Germany.
